MIGRATE TO KLAVIYO
WITHOUT LOSING GROUND.
Moving from another ESP shouldn't mean losing list history, breaking automations, or tanking deliverability. We migrate the account and rebuild the architecture clean, in the right order.
The Problem
Migrating platforms is where a lot of email programs get permanently worse, not better. List history gets lost, flows get imported broken, authentication gets misconfigured, and sender reputation resets on the new platform with no warm-up plan. The brand ends up on Klaviyo with the same problems it had before, just on more expensive infrastructure.
What’s Included
- Full account rebuild, not a straight import: account structure and flow architecture built clean on Klaviyo instead of carrying over whatever existed on the old platform.
- List hygiene before import: the list gets cleaned before it’s ever imported, so the new account doesn’t inherit deliverability problems.
- Authentication and warm-up: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configured correctly from day one, with a sending pattern that protects sender reputation during the transition.
- Flow and campaign rebuild: lifecycle flows and campaign calendar rebuilt to Klaviyo’s actual architecture, not translated piece by piece from the old platform’s logic.
How It Works
Migration follows the same sequence as a from-zero setup, platform first, list hygiene second, flow architecture third, campaign system fourth, because a migration is really a rebuild that happens to start with an existing list instead of an empty one. That order is what took one account from an unclean, never-tracked setup to a 75.8% average open rate post-migration.
Who It’s For
Brands on Mailchimp or another general-purpose ESP who’ve outgrown it, or brands already technically “on Klaviyo” but never properly migrated, meaning flows and segmentation were never rebuilt to fit the new platform. If there’s no existing account or list to migrate at all, Klaviyo setup is the right starting point instead. See Klaviyo vs Mailchimp and Klaviyo vs Omnisend if you’re still deciding whether to migrate at all.

Will we lose our list or sender reputation during migration?[+]
Not if it's done in the right order. We clean the list before it's imported, set up authentication correctly on the new platform, and, where the account's sending history warrants it, follow a gradual warm-up pattern rather than blasting the full list on day one.
Why not just import our old flows into Klaviyo as-is?[+]
Because a flow built for a different platform's logic usually doesn't translate cleanly, and importing a broken setup just moves the problem to a new platform. A real case study on this exact situation, a brand on the wrong platform with a never-cleaned list, held a 75.8% open rate after a full migration and rebuild rather than a straight import.
Which platforms do you migrate from?[+]
Most commonly Mailchimp and other general-purpose ESPs into Klaviyo, since that's the most common upgrade path for ecommerce brands whose email needs have outgrown a generic platform. Scope and complexity depend on your current setup, which we assess in the free audit.
